Sea Scape Salt Room, billed as Idaho’s first salt room offering halotherapy, has opened at 2577 South Five Mile Road, in Boise.

Dry salt therapy, or halotherapy, is a completely natural, non-invasive and drug-free treatment. The health benefits of salt therapy can be wide-ranging, since salt affects every cell in the human body. Salt is antimicrobial, antibacterial and antifungal.

Halotherapy enthusiasts claim that sessions have helped alleviate the symptoms of a long list of conditions, especially those involving the skin, respiratory system and ear/nose/throat, as well as stress- and fatigue-related conditions.

Karen Thompson, owner of Sea Scape Salt Room, says, “Halotherapy improves the aging process, strengthens the immune system, improves sports performance and increases overall wellness. We look forward to bringing such a relaxing and comprehensive wellness opportunity to the community.”

Sessions last 45 minutes, and the per-session cost is $35 for adults, $15 for students and $5 for children under age 12. To encourage Natural Awakenings readers to experience the benefits of halotherapy for themselves, for a limited time Sea Scape Salt Room is offering new customers their first session at half-price.
