Certified Advanced Rolfer and Certified Rolf Movement Practitioner Jeffrey DeGeorgio, owner of DeGeorgio Bodyworks, is offering half-price introductory Rolfing sessions as well as discounted 10-Series/Advanced Post 10-Series, so all Boise-area residents can experience the benefits of Rolfing.
Created by Dr. Ida Rolf over 50 years ago, Rolfing is a holistic system of bodywork that shifts fascia, posture and gravity for lasting change. Rolf spent her lifetime proving that “everything is connected” and taught that “when the body gets working appropriately, the force of gravity can flow through, then spontaneously, the body heals itself.” DeGeorgio explains that Rolf brought fascia into bodyworking vocabulary and showed how it creates posture, controls movement and carries our stories, ultimately founding the Rolf Institute, in Boulder, Colorado.
DeGeorgio adds, “Rolfing is not a deep massage as often described; it is an individualized transformational journey. Rolfing is a variety of touch that follows the nervous system and is intended to alleviate pain, not create holding patterns. Rolfing uses movements, sensations and experiences to broaden our brain-maps and improve the way we work. It is an opportunity to connect internally and externally with health and ease, to better navigate gravity, habits and posture.”
DeGeorgio serves as a board member for the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute. He says, “While fascial research and Rolfing evolve, we know that improving posture and body usage can heal all body systems. I believe everyone deserves Rolfing, infants up. It can transform the individual and ultimately evolve the collective, which was Dr. Rolf’s mission.”
