On the second Wednesday of each month, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Boise Natural Health Clinic opens its doors to Boise-area residents interested in learning more about their practice. Attendees meet the doctors and practitioners, tour the clinic and dispensary, learn more about the services provided and ask questions. They also receive a 20 percent off coupon for a future service.
Joan Haynes, ND, founder of Boise Natural Health Clinic, says, “The main reason we have open house events is to find the right practitioner for the patient. We have three licensed naturopathic physicians and other healthcare practitioners to choose from, and although there is lots of overlap, we each have different modalities, experiences and personalities. Also—maybe we can’t help you. Wouldn’t that be nice to know before you made the appointment and spent money?”
Haynes explains that one staff member answers general questions in the waiting room while the doctors and practitioners bring people back to a private room so they can answer health-related questions. Common questions involve the practitioner’s experience with a specific condition, treatment options, time involved, costs and honest opinions of whether or not the practitioner feels they can help. If the clinic isn’t the right fit for an attendee, they can often receive a referral to someone else that might be able to help.
