Destination Caldwell is a grassroots, nonprofit organization focused on growing the economic base and vitality of Caldwell. The organization’s activities support downtown revitalization, attracting and retaining businesses, and working with city and community partners to serve and attract an orchestrated business mix and sustainable employment opportunities to the city.
Over the past five years, Destination Caldwell has sought to position Caldwell as Idaho’s premier gathering place, with a focus on locally produced wines along the Sunnyslope Wine Trail, market-fresh goods and farm-to-fork dining.
The organization’s largest accomplishment to date is a public-private partnership with the city of Caldwell to build Indian Creek Plaza, an urban square located in the core area of the downtown retail district. The plaza was designed to monetize and grow assets in Caldwell while leveraging and celebrating wineries and farm-to-fork growers that call Caldwell home.
Indian Creek Plaza opened July 10 at 120 South Kimball Avenue and is equipped with an ice rink and ribbon, a stage for concerts, live entertainment and movies, outdoor seating and a splash pad for outdoor water play.
Destination Caldwell will program over 200 events and activities every year, including community festivals, farmers’ markets, group exercise classes, concerts, movies and more.
